Kate Hudson performs at the Hotel Jerome for second annual holiday concert in Aspen
A year after performing her first-ever live show in front of friends and family, singer/songwriter Kate Hudson returned to the Hotel Jerome in her hometown of Aspen on Saturday night for a private concert at Bad Harriet.
The show was a homecoming of sorts for Hudson who, after her 2023 show at Hotel Jerome, went on to release her debut album “Glorious” in May to widespread critical acclaim with Rolling Stone hailing it as “one of the year’s most pleasant musical surprises.” Hudson performed throughout the year on the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “The Voice,” and Howard Stern. “Glorious” debuted on Billboard’s Top Albums sales chart.
“I’ve been writing music and performing music throughout my entire life,” Hudson said in a prepared statement. “I am so proud to have finally recorded and released an album. And I have never been happier. Writing and recording music is something I will continue to do for the rest of my life.”
The audience at Saturday night’s show at Hotel Jerome’s Bad Harriet was able to witness Hudson’s commitment to music with a setlist that included her original songs mixed with some of her favorite covers that ranged from Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” to The Rolling Stones’ “Beast of Burden” to Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends.” Hudson also sprinkled some holiday songs throughout the set, performing her recently released version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” which the New York Times declared “soulful,” and Entertainment Weekly deemed as one of the top holiday single releases of 2024. The audience participated in a sing-along of the “12 Days of Christmas” before the crowd begged Kate for an encore performance.
Hudson has only performed a handful of live shows in 2024. Next year, she is set to release more music and perform several live shows throughout the United States, and will appear at the Troubadour in West Hollywood on Jan. 31, 2025.
The star-studded show on Saturday night was attended by Kate’s parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, her brother Oliver and his wife Erinn, her fiancé Danny Fujikawa, her son Ryder as well as many close celebrity friends and entertainers, including Diplo, Kevin Costner, Dakota Johnson, Kyle Richards, and Heidi Klum.
