Outside Interactive acquires Inntopia, a travel and hospitality company

Outside Interactive, a Boulder-based media and technology company known for its outdoor content and digital tools, announced it has taken full ownership of Inntopia — a leading provider of booking, marketing, and business intelligence solutions for the adventure travel and hospitality industry.

Outside Interactive — the owner of several outdoor and fitness brands including Outside, Backpacker, SKI magazine, Yoga Journal, Pinkbike and Warren Miller — announced its acquisition of Inntopia on Feb. 6., which had previously been majority-owned by Northstar Travel Group.

“Our other shareholders are exiting as part of this transaction,” CEO Trevor Crist wrote in a release.

Inntopia serves more than 200 resorts and international destinations, including ski resorts and national parks. By combining forces, Outside plans to offer a more seamless experience for outdoor enthusiasts looking to book trips, accommodations and activities in one place as part of a curated travel package, according to their website.

Crist said there will be “no significant changes” to Inntopia’s team and operations. The platform said it anticipates growing its resources and capabilities in the future.

The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
