The Park County Coroner’s Office has identified the 65-year-old woman who died following a single-vehicle crash on Colorado Highway 9 near Alma on Friday, Feb. 14.
Julie Danielsen, of Alma, died at St. Anthony Summit Hospital after she was transported by first responders, Park County Coroner David Kintz Jr. said in a statement Monday, Feb. 17. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.
Colorado State Patrol said that Danielsen was driving a 2005 Kia Sorento that began rotating clockwise and went off the right side of the road around 4:50 p.m. Friday. The Kia continued southbound off the road and rolled multiple times.
First responders extricated Danielsen, who was wearing a seatbelt, and transferred her to the hospital, where she died from her injuries, according to State Patrol. The crash reportedly occurred near Mile Post 73 near Alma, which is just shy of a mile away from the summit of Hoosier Pass.
