The Summit Coroner’s Office has identified the individual shot and killed Sunday, July 9, by police in the Summit Cove.
Charles Dewitt Foster, 18, of Silverthorne died in the shooting near Idlewild Drive and Summit Drive in the Summit Cove neighborhood in unincorporated Summit County, Coroner Amber Flenniken said in an email Thursday.
Chief Deputy Coroner Jill Ratliff and Deputy Christiane Baigent are the death investigators working the case alongside the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Flenniken said. An autopsy was performed on Monday, and the cause and manner of death are pending autopsy results, she said.
The Coroner’s Office extended its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, Flenniken said.
